Collection: Tegelberg, Germany

Tegelberg, perched above Schwangau in Bavaria, is one of Germany’s best-known paragliding sites and a favorite for both tourists and seasoned pilots. The main south-facing launch sits just below the summit station and delivers smooth thermals with postcard views of Neuschwanstein Castle. On good days, pilots connect ridge lift toward Breitenberg or head cross-country into the Ammergau Alps. Mornings can bring katabatic winds that demand patience, while afternoons reward with reliable climbs. Crowds are common in summer, but the scenery and flying make Tegelberg an essential stop on any Alpine tour.
