Tucked above Sand in Taufers in Italy’s Ahrntal Valley, Speikboden is a high-Alpine gem that rewards early risers and cloudbase chasers. The gondola drops you right below launch at 2,400 m, with postcard views across the Dolomites. Mornings can start scratchy, but by midday the thermals turn smooth and organized — classic South Tyrol magic. XC lines run north toward Luttach or deeper into the Zillertal Alps if you’ve got the height. The LZ at the bottom is forgiving, the cappuccino after landing even more so.
