Collection: Rhossili, Wales

Stand on the grassy lip above Rhossili and you instantly get why pilots talk about it in hushed tones. The main takeoff sits just above the bay, a clean W–NW face that builds a long, predictable lift band when the sea breeze settles in. On a good day you step forward, the wing fills, and suddenly you’re carving along a cliff line that seems to run forever.

You’ll trace the curve of the beach, spot surfers below, and watch Worm’s Head slide past your left tip. It’s friendly enough for newer pilots on mellow afternoons, but the site has its rhythms: launch from the shoulder, work the ridge, mind your clearance, and give yourself room on top landings. Classic coastal flying — smooth, salty, and unforgettable.
